Finding Your Bliss in the Smaller Moments
Share
Hello Blissful Attitude Community & Welcome Back to Your Everyday Bliss Blog!
Life is a fascinating journey. We live, set goals, work hard, fall down, reset those goals, work even harder, get thrown off course, and start over again. It can feel like a tireless loop—deflating and sometimes even like failure. It’s easy to feel like no matter what we do, it’s never enough. You might have reached your blissful lifestyle, but even then, life can still feel like it’s relentlessly trying to take away your peace, your dreams, and your joy. This chaos can feel overwhelming, especially when it brings an emotional heaviness that feels unshakeable. But in these moments, it’s important to remember: there’s power in finding peace in the smaller, everyday moments that help reground us.
Acknowledge the Struggles (Realness)
This year has been incredible in so many ways, but personally, it’s been a whirlwind of challenges. For one, I’ve started this business, learning as I go. It’s a journey I truly enjoy, but it also comes with its fair share of challenges, including the exhaustion and self-doubt that can creep in. Meanwhile, I watched my husband have a major career win, only to face some heavy personal and professional hurdles that seemed to steal the joy from the moment. It was exhausting for both of us—juggling our own struggles while supporting each other, and also being there for friends and family who were going through their own difficult times.
Looking back at the first quarter of this year, it’s almost comical how much chaotic life stuff unfolded for people we care about.
We knew we’d be okay, but trying to stay positive, constantly looking for the silver lining, being understanding of others, and attempting to let things go... it’s EXHAUSTING. It’s emotionally draining. It’s not about pretending it doesn’t exist—it’s about acknowledging that it’s too much to handle alone. Sometimes, we need a partner, a friend, or even professional help to carry the load when it gets overwhelming.
We all get to this point in life. We all need help, and we all struggle—and that’s okay. There’s no shame in seeking support, at whatever level feels right for you.
I’ve often struggled with feelings of shame and guilt for not always feeling blissful, especially when I’m creating this blog and brand. But then, I remembered the reason I started it. It was never about being perfect or showcasing a life of constant bliss. It was about reminding myself—and hopefully others—that bliss can be found in the everyday moments, no matter how chaotic life may seem. This blog is part of my passion project and my own form of therapy. It’s a daily reminder of how I want to live and who I want to be, and it’s my hope that it reaches others and brings a little bliss into their lives.
The Magic of Smaller Moments
Blissful Attitude is my daily reminder to find peace and bliss in my day. It’s my reminder to take a moment to myself, to enjoy where I’m at, and I hope it does the same for you. It’s so easy to get wrapped up in all the things thrown at you from every direction, and while we feel like we’re drowning, exhausted and unsure how to fix that feeling, starting small is key. Start with taking a sip of your coffee, take a walk outside, or maybe just sit outside without your phone. If you feel like life isn’t “giving” you any peace, go create a moment of peace for yourself. Create a moment to laugh and add some childlike playfulness to your day. We get to create and decide how our lives unfold.
Letting Go/Releasing the Pressure to Protect Your Bliss
Lately, it feels like there’s this constant pressure to protect your happiness. There’s been an overwhelming focus on self-love, which I wholeheartedly support—yes, you do need to protect your bliss and prioritize your well-being. But, as much as this advice is helpful, it can also bring added pressure. In a world that constantly tells us to “put ourselves first” and “protect our happiness at all costs,” it can sometimes feel like an expectation to be joyful and centered all the time, which—let’s be real—can be exhausting.
As I mentioned above, I began to feel the weight of not being blissful 24/7 while still trying to create and promote a blissful attitude. That pressure to always be positive and “on” started to feel too much. But here’s the thing: I’m choosing to surrender that pressure. I’m inviting you to do the same.
It’s okay not to be blissful all the time. It’s okay to feel the heaviness of life. In fact, it’s necessary to acknowledge those feelings, let them pass, and give yourself permission to feel them fully. Releasing the pressure to constantly protect your bliss doesn’t mean you're giving up on it—it means you're making space for real, unfiltered joy to emerge in its own time.
In working through several different challenges, I’ve realized that each challenge offers an opportunity for growth, even if it doesn’t feel like it in the moment. It’s hard to see the lessons during a stressful event or when emotions are running high. But in hindsight, I’ve come to understand that the most challenging experiences often teach us something we wouldn’t have learned otherwise—whether it’s resilience, patience, or a deeper connection with ourselves and others.
The key is to shift our focus from feeling like we need to “fix” everything or “protect” our bliss, and instead, allow the moments of peace to come naturally, without force. There’s wisdom in letting go of the fight and embracing what’s here now. The bliss doesn’t need to be protected; it’s already within us, waiting to emerge in the smaller, quieter moments.
Embracing Bliss in the Everyday Moments
As we navigate the ups and downs of life, it’s easy to become overwhelmed by the noise and chaos around us. But in the midst of the challenges, there is always an opportunity to find our bliss—not in grand achievements, but in the quiet, often overlooked moments of the day. Whether it’s savoring a cup of coffee, taking a peaceful walk, or simply sitting in stillness, these small moments are where we can reconnect with ourselves and find a sense of peace, even when life feels overwhelming.
Let’s remember that it’s okay not to have everything figured out, and it’s okay not to feel blissful every second. Life isn’t about constantly chasing happiness or protecting it at all costs. It’s about giving ourselves the grace to experience the full range of emotions, knowing that the moments of bliss we seek are already within us—waiting to be found in the small, quiet spaces.
So, I invite you to let go of the pressure to be “on” all the time. Give yourself permission to feel it all—the highs and the lows—and trust that your bliss will find you in the smaller moments, no matter how chaotic life may seem.
Thank you for joining me on this journey, and I hope you find your bliss in the everyday moments of your own life.
